GET OUT OF YOUR WORLD

GET OUT OF YOUR WORLD

One of the greatest and hardest things about coffee is that it isn’t grown here.

As you likely know, coffee is not grown in a warehouse (but I bet they're trying), and the larger coffee consuming countries can’t grow it at scale to even come close to the demand. But to refresh you, the coffee bean as we call it (not a legume) is the seed of a tropical fruit that is grown in the tropics around the world near the equator. And after originating in Ethiopia, it took a lot of twists and turns around the globe through the early days of exploration, trade and colonization before settling everywhere that it is today.

As we say on the back of our bags, we are fortunate to have worked in various parts of the globe that get us outside of our own little world. The coffee supply chain and industry does that to you. It’s so long and huge, but really tied together by the thing we love to drink, or really the thing we love to connect through.

As you enjoy it at home or in a café, we want you to experience some of that. It sounds counter-intuitive, but we hope the coffee slows you down a little bit so you can get out of your world, too. It doesn’t have to be in another continent somewhere across the globe, it can simply be next door, down the street or just on the other side of town. For us, we love those moments across a cup of coffee or any other fitting beverage - drawing connection, delight, and openness to know those right around you but outside of your world.

No matter where you are or what you do, it’s pretty easy to stay in your lane and not see what's around you. Whether it be a different language, faith, food, or just a way of living, there’s a lot more out there than what is in your world.
