KENYA - KIRIMAHIGA MURANG'A

Kenyan coffees hold a strong place in the market as historically producing some of the finest coffees from the continent and the respect is much deserved. Our import partners have loads of history there and select some of the top lots from top exporters and deliver them timely.

The Kirimahiga Coffee Factory is located in the upper midland zone, about 200 kilometres North of Nairobi. It was registered in 1998, though coffee has been grown there since the ‘60s. There are currently 781 producers supplying coffee to the coffee factory.

How should I brew?

We think you should brew any way you like. But if you're looking for recommendations, a 1:17 ratio of coffee to water is our favorite. 60g/L is good too, if you're into that.

Grind your coffee fresh at a medium-ish grind size (depending on your brewer), heat up some nice water, and you're most of the way there.

If you're using a V60, 20g of coffee to 340g of water is great, and it's helpful to have a pouring kettle. Bloom, wait, and then pour high and in a steady stream for a nice extraction.

If you're using a batch coffee maker, 60g of coffee to a liter of water is just right. Brew it up and let it rip.

What should I do with a Liaise Coffee Bag Clip?

Yes, our 12oz coffee bags are resealable. BUT if you get a 5lb bag, it is not resealable. If you decide to go big with a 5lb bag from Liaise, the bag clip is a perfect tool. Just remember, the Liaise Coffee Bag Clip is NOT a chip clip. It's a coffee bag clip.
