Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee and a place where coffee can actually grow wild. With that, it’s no surprise that these coffees are different from many other origins on the continent and in the world. This Ethiopian lot was sourced through close partners that have a long and rich history in Agaro, evidenced by the quality of the coffee and how quickly it is delivered from origin to our HQ.

This is a washed coffee from Yukro that was harvested in January 2026 in the western area of Ethiopia in Jimma. Agaro coffees, like some others in Ethiopia, open up over time and develop more and more flavor. Right now it has a crispness that is sweet, and delicate with a juice like nature to them that is so refreshing, perfect for the summer. And it’s only going to get better with time.

How should I brew?

We think you should brew any way you like. But if you're looking for recommendations, a 1:16 ratio of coffee to water is our favorite. 60g/L is good too, if you're into that.

Grind your coffee fresh at a medium-ish grind size (depending on your brewer), heat up some nice water, and you're most of the way there.

If you're using a V60, 20g of coffee to 320g of water is great, and it's helpful to have a pouring kettle. Bloom, wait, and then pour high and in a steady stream for a nice extraction.

If you're using a batch coffee maker, 60g of coffee to a liter of water is just right. Brew it up and let it rip.

What should I do with a Liaise Coffee Bag Clip?

Yes, our 12oz coffee bags are resealable. BUT if you get a 5lb bag, it is not resealable. If you decide to go big with a 2lb or 5lb bag from Liaise, the bag clip is a perfect tool. Just remember, the Liaise Coffee Bag Clip is NOT a chip clip. It's a coffee bag clip.
